Following the end of his membership in The Firm, Alex Trojano contributed in producing his album The Testament. Cormega's dispute with Stoute also ended his friendship with Nas. This led to an alleged altercation between Cormega and Nature. Cormega was replaced with another artist, Nature, because either he would not sign a contract with Stoute or Stoute felt Nature was a better rapper. Dre and Trackmasters joined to produce The Firm.
Based on the buzz from 'Affirmative Action,' Nas, his manager Steve Stoute and producers Dr. Based on his performance, he was signed to Def Jam and recorded an album called The Testament. The song also featured AZ and Foxy Brown, and became The Firm's first appearance. Nas included him on a song entitled 'Affirmative Action' for his second album It Was Written. But after Gabriel left the band in ’75, Genesis carried on with drummer Phil Collins as their de-facto frontman, transitioning from complex, symphonic epics (“Eleventh Earl of Mar”) to concise, polished pop (“Invisible Touch).” For many diehard prog buffs, the Collins era is a travesty for many pop-rock aficionados, the Gabriel era is, as serial killer Patrick Bateman put it in the 2000 thriller American Psycho, “too artsy, too intellectual.” The question “Do you like Genesis?” brings an inevitable follow-up: “Which one?” The band’s early work, recorded under the idiosyncratic Batwing of frontman Peter Gabriel, is the Holy Grail of progressive rock – exemplified by sprawling masterpieces like the 1974 double-LP The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway.
